Back on the Wagon

A lot has happened since I stopped blogging on my WordPress blog.
  • Linda (my wife) and I have purchased a single family home in preparation for Milton Jr. (MJ) and other creatively named children we will have (Lord willing).
  • I've become a manager at work so I have the joy of managing people and helping them with their careers - which is actually much harder than I thought it would be.
  • We went on a once in a lifetime trip to China! Thumbs up for amazing Peking duck! Thumbs down for grilled scorpion and seahorses! Another thumbs up for holding a baby panda! Pics will be posted to this blog at some point. I swear!
  • My car was totaled by a genius who ran a red light.  I replaced my "teenage hot rod" Mazdaspeed 3 with a VW R32.  My friends think hatchbacks are ugly but something about them just intrigues me...
  • I've come to the startling realization that I'm not as athletic as I used to be in college and my memory isn't as quick as it was back then either
I'm sure there's a lot more that's happened but this is what's coming to my mind right now (see the last bullet).  I moved away from the WordPress blog because Blogger is a lot easier to customize from an HTML and CSS standpoint.  One day, my blog will look just like my website (www.miltonyangphotography.com).  I still insist that I can code because that's what I studied in undergrad but perhaps reality will rear it's ugly head (read: the blog looks like junk because my CSS and HTML is a total hack).

Why did I start blogging again?  Well for one, it allows me to think out loud and reflect on what's going on in my life.  It also allows me to share what's going on in my world of photography.  The adage, "A picture is worth a thousand words," still holds true for me and what better way to express my thoughts and life than by combining my words with my images.  I plan on posting pictures from my personal life in addition to pictures from client sessions. I was worried initially that I'd be writing a blog that no one would ever read.  If anything, at least I can force Linda to read it!  Oh wait, she falls asleep even when reading uber exciting novels like the Da Vinci Code.

Wow! That was a long first post. Anytime you feel the need to respond to my writing, feel free to leave a comment!  It's always awesome to find out someone's actually listening out there!

P.S. I just realized I like putting a lot of thoughts between parens.  It's like I'm talking to myself.  Oh that's right, I kinda am when I'm writing a journal.
