What Sound Does a Bear Make? BEAR!

Photographing Saad and Krystal's family reminded me of why I want twin boys (their sons aren't twins but are very close in age).  AJ and Isaiah were an absolute riot to photograph.  At first they were afraid of our quacking duck but then they decided the duck wouldn't be scary if they were the ones making it quack.  The quacking duck spurred the best quote of 2010.

AJ: "Quack, quack, quack"
Stuffed duck: "quack quack quackquackquack"
Saad: "Yes, that's the sound a duck makes."
AJ: "Quack, quack, quack"
Stuffed duck: "quack quack quackquackquack"
Saad: "What sound does a dog make?"
AJ: "Woof woof!"
Stuffed duck: "quack quack quackquackquack"
Saad:"What sound does a bear make?"
AJ: "BEAR!!!"

I think that "BEAR!!!" response had everyone rolling for about 10 minutes.  That laughter was definitely a sign of things to come.  After that, Rock was not to be outdone so he ran outside when we started group shots and decided to do a pull up on the tree in the backyard before he did his crazy man run around the yard.  It was easy to see the joy and happiness these two little boys brought to the whole family.  Saad and Krystal have really worked hard to raise the boys the right way and it shows.

Happy Birthday Ashleigh

Ashleigh is one of the single adults at our church.  She has an amazing testimony and we were really excited when she asked us if we could do some portraits as a little birthday present to herself.  Ashleigh didn't know where she wanted to do the portraits other than wanting to have some nature and flowers.  Once I heard flowers and nature, I immediately thought of the Brookside Gardens.  I used to go there as a kid and hate it but now it's a cool place to walk around and chill (I guess b/c I'm old now?).

Back to Ashleigh - Ashleigh was an amazing model and new just exactly how to pose without much instruction.  It was fun getting to know Ashleigh better and the portrait session turned out amazing because of her beautiful smile. I think the guys better wake up soon because Ashleigh is pretty, down-to-earth, and is always laughing.  Yes, that describes my Linda as well but I'm going to stop because I know my boys are already making fun of me and clowning me...

This tree was out of this world! This shot reminds me of something you'd see in fashion magazine (not that I'm saying I'm a fashion photographer because I'm not that creative!)
