A Beautiful Wedding Reception at 2941

The first time I met Masao and Kim was over a phone conversation I had with Masao about 3 weeks before their reception.  You see, Kim is the cousin of my friend JP and they originally did not want to get  a photographer. At the last minute they decided they did want photography which is how I came into the picture.  I think they made a great decision in getting a photographer (I'm not saying this because they hired me, I'm not THAT narcissistic) because the reception was amazing.  The details, food, dessert, everything was a photographer's dream!

Masao and Kim live in the Bay area in CA where he's working in a startup and Kim is a veterinarian (wow, that was hard to spell for a second there.  Ever have those moments when the simplest words suddenly look really strange? That was one of them for sure).  Kim actually grew up in the DC area which is why she has so much family here.  They decided to hold a wedding reception at 2941 in Falls Church because some of their family in the area were not able to make it to their cliff side wedding in CA (that sounds really awesome btw).

The reception was beautiful and had all the key things that make a great party.  There was amazing food (a given that it was at 2941), great desserts (a given that they had Georgetown cupcakes), and fun family and friends.  In particular, Masao and Kim's friends were a riot.  They were totally down for making outrageous pictures and even made some of their own heartfelt pictures of Masao and Kim (look for the pics of Masao and Kim on an iPhone and you'll understand).

Masao and Kim - thank you so much for allowing us to share in your day.  It was really fun interacting with your family and friends.  Enjoy the awesome weather and surfing out in CA.  We're beyond jealous.  In fact, the weather here is hovering around a balmy 32 degrees...

Kim's sister-in-law and a friend helped set up the awesome dessert table so they had the right to steal tons of enjoy some cupcakes.

Apparently everything at 2941 is delicious.  This boy was a riot.

I think these two got embarrassed after I took the photo but I think it's a great way to end this blog post.  Love + great friends + family = an awesome wedding reception
